Pool Safety

This is the time of the year homeowners are cleaning out their backyard pools or going to the supermarket to buy inflatable above ground pools. The tragedy is that less care goes into thinking about safety than goes into getting the pool ready for the family to use.
Every year in the U.S. almost 3000 children suffer from death or near death by drowning. Here are some tips to protect your children:
1. Enclose your pool with fences at least 4ft high.
2. Make sure your fence gate has a working lock – and use it.
3. Remove steps to above ground pools when not in use, or, close off the access so children cannot climb unless attended.
4. Have rescue equipment nearby.
5. Never let young children in the garden alone.
6. Take all toys out of the pool when not in use. Young children are attracted to them.
There are many more safety precautions you can take. Make sure your pool time is safe for the whole family
